Biography


David Crawford, born in Dallas, Texas, spent his early years growing up in the Lone Star State before briefly living in Louisville, Kentucky, famous for Churchill Downs. A Northern California native, David graduated from TAM High school where he participated in the drama program (CTE), the film program (AIM), and Leadership all while maintaining a modest GPA. David excelled during his undergraduate years at UCLA where he continued his academic performance and trained under renowned sound designers; Jonathan Deans (Spiderman, Love, & many more), Jonathan Burke (Pest Control, The Best Is Yet To Come, & many more), Philip Allen (Titanic, Jesus Christ Superstar, & many more), and Jon Gottlieb (If You Ever Leave Me I’m Coming With You, Master Class, & many more).

Since graduating from UCLA David has worked for LA-based theater company Reprise at UCLA, Boston Court in Pasadena, Magic Pictures International at the El Portal, and various other venues.

David now lives in New York City and continues to design and mix musicals. David's work can be seen off-broadway were he has designed several musicals and also at the Lincoln Center. You can also find him building the next Broadway show at either Sound Assocaites, Masque, or PRG. He provides sound support on Industrials and is one of the FOH mixers for, The Company Men.

He also serves as System TECH for Firehouse Productions which provides sound support for the VMA’s, Halo Awards, NBA Hall of Fame Presentation, and iHeart’s Jingle Ball tour. Please see my resume for a full list of all the productions.

David enjoys keeping up with his friends world events, and sports; the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco Giants in particular. Other hobbies include: mountain biking, cooking, and water-skiing.
